EarthDance is a non-profit organization that operates an Organic Farm School in St. Louis, Missouri. On our 14 acre certified organic farm, located on the historic Mueller Farm in Ferguson, you can participate in our Farm & Garden Apprenticeship, attend classes, or take an educational farm tour. We host groups of all ages and backgrounds for hands-on education and delicious experiences.

One of the best ways to get connected with EarthDance is to come out to our Farm in Ferguson and see our organic growing operation in action!

 

 

Free Tours run every Saturday May – October

**We also offer custom group tours at a fee of $10/per person with a minimum of $50 per tour.**

Field Trips

At the EarthDance Organic Farm School it is our goal educate members of the St. Louis community aboutorganic farming and gardening.

Field trips are are a great way to introduce student and adult learners alike to the to concepts of food production.  Participants will see all parts of the farm and have plenty of time to ask questions!

All tours include:

  • A short lecture about the history and mission of EarthDance
  • A farm tour that will include detailed information about farm functions
  •  Sample of crops right from the farm

Some of the stops on our tours include:

  • Vegetable production rows
  • Composting bins
  • Chicken flocks
  • Berry Bushes
  • Herb areas
  • Rainwater catchment system
  • Native flower gardens
  • Permaculture projects (Hugelkultur, Multi-Story Guild, No till garden beds, companion plantings, sheet-mulching techniques)

Please let us know if you want to cover a specific topic during your farm tour! Depending on the age of attendees we can incorporate lessons into your field trip.

Examples lessons include:

  • Games and songs for your kiddos
  • Basic plant needs
  • Laying hens and how to care for chickens.
  • Sustainability
  • Compost
  • Water
  • Food Systems

Field trips are typically 60 minutes long with possible extension if interested in either educational lessors or hands-on volunteering.

Service learning and Internship opportunities are also available.
