Family Creative Learning Registration Period

The Family Creative Learning programs will take place on four consecutive Wednesday evenings in February at the Lewis & Clark Branch. Families who complete all four sessions will earn a free PBS KIDS Playtime pad, a kid-safe tablet with games and apps featuring some of PBS’ favorite characters.

There are a limited number of spots available for this program, participants will be chosen by lottery. Entries for the lottery will be accepted Tuesday, January 16 through Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at www.slcl.org/kids.

 

The Lewis & Clark Branch is at 9909 Lewis-Clark Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63136-5322. The programs will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on February 7, 14, 21, and 28. Families chosen for this program must attend all four programs to earn the PBS KIDS Playtime pad.

 

Family Creative Learning programs combine hands-on, kid-friendly science with fun for families with children ages 5-8. (Family members of all ages are welcome to attend the sessions and dinner will be provided.) Programs are presented by the Nine Network of Public Media.

 

There are a limited number of spots available, so participants will be chosen by lottery. Entries for the lottery will be accepted Tuesday, January 16 through Tuesday, January 23, 2018. To be in the lottery, fill out a form on the library’s website at www.slcl.org/kids. One entry per family. Winners will be randomly selected Wednesday, January 24, 2018 and will be contacted by end of business Thursday, January 25, 2018.

 

The PBS KIDS Playtime pad comes with 27 games and apps featuring PBS’ characters such as the Cat in the Hat, Daniel Tiger, Bob the Builder, Arthur the Aardvark and others. Parental controls allow adults to customize the tablet, approving or blocking content, and setting time limits. The tablet comes with a 7" HD 1024 x 600 Multi-Touch Screen, 1.3Ghz Quad-Core Processor with a dedicated GPU, 1GB RAM,16GB Flash Memory. It does not require Wi-Fi, but is Wi-Fi ready.
