A love for learning develops naturally in Rossman’s Junior Kindergarten program, the first step in a cohesive eight-year independent elementary school education. An 8:1 student-teacher ratio allows the school’s three experienced Junior Kindergarten teachers to form deep connections with every child. These relationships cultivate confidence, encourage risk taking and improve learning as Juniors build academic and social skills. Formal and informal learning experiences focused on discovery, high-level thinking, creative problem solving and observation lay the foundation for lifelong learning. As part of the larger school community, Juniors also enjoy the advantages of specialty subjects — Spanish, music and physical education — taught by specially trained educators. Juniors participate fully in school life, including mentoring relationships and character development programs.

Saint Louis Zoo Preschool
The Saint Louis Zoo Preschool is now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 school year. The nature-based program connects children to the natural world while building confidence and encouraging creativity and problem-solving. Students spend a minimum of 50 percent of their time outside exploring the 90-acre Zoo and beautiful surrounding park. Students and their families are a part of the Zoo community, getting to know the animals and those who care for them. The program uses the project-based approach - it allows child-directed learning in which children practice important skills in an authentic manner. Preschool applications are due Tuesday, January 31.
