Engage your young scientist in science-related learning! Through interactive stories and hands-on exploration, children learn about science, as well as language, problem solving and social skills.

 

Classes are located in the GROW meeting room on the first floor near the entrance to GROW.

WINTER SERIES

Simple Machines – December 19
What happens when one color is mixed with another? Do simple chemistry experiments to learn about change.


Weather Wonderland – January 8 & 9
Explore the wonders of weather and its many forms through hands on exploration and play.


Ice, Ice, Baby – January 15 & 16
Test the scientific properties of ice through a series of experiments and create ice art to take home!


Winter Animals – January 22 & 23
Learn how animals use cool adaptations to survive frigid temperatures.


Build it! – February 12 & 13
Inspired by the Three Little Pigs, build a house using reclaimed materials. Then put your house to the test in front of our Big Bad Wolf Fan!


Bridges – February 19 & 20
Join us as we construct bridges and test their strength and length using engineering techniques.


Flying Machines – February 26 & 27
How does wind help things fly? Find out as you test different kinds of flight.

Brain Games – April 9 & 10
Test your brain power as you play games and learn how to keep this important organ safe.


The Five Senses – April 16 & 17
Discover how each of the senses plays a special role in bringing messages to your brain. Note: please notify reservationist of any food allergies or dietary restrictions.


Plant Power – April 23 & 24
Discover the power of plants as they transform from seed to flower. Dissect a plant and prepare a seed to observe as it sprouts at home.


Cloudy Weather – May 7 & 8
Observe the sky and make artistic representations of your favorite clouds.


Fruit! – May 14 & 15
Taste, dissect, and create art as you explore the world of fruits. Please let reservationist know of any food allergies or dietary restrictions.


Farm Animals – May 21 & 22
Learn about farm animals and the role that they play in food production. Please let reservationist know of any food or animal allergies.
