135th VP Parade
Great Things are Happening!
America’s Birthday Parade, produced by the V.P. of St. Louis since 1878, kicks off the 4th of July holiday weekend in Saint Louis on July 1. This year’s theme is “Great Things are Happening!”
The parade begins at the redesigned Kiener Plaza at Broadway and Market Street at 9:30 a.m. and proceeds straight down Market Street to the television broadcast area in front of Union Station.
The Parade continues the Veiled Prophet Organization’s long history of promoting St. Louis as a great place to live and work, raise a family, do business, or be a visitor in a fun and celebratory way. This year’s parade features 12 high-caliber marching bands from across the region, 17 beautifully designed floats, many huge helium-filled character balloons and dozens of great units that will capture the imagination of the community.
In addition to the thousands watching along the route, the parade will be broadcast live on KMOV TV in the St. Louis market and syndicated to many television stations across the county. Last year the syndicated TV coverage reached 16 million households in 29 different markets.
