Eggstravaganza Schedule
The Zoo's enrichment team, nutrition staff and keepers are planning special egg-themed activities for the animals. The various "eggs" can be made from papier-mâché, ice, gelatin or other food items. Stop by the animal habitats throughout the day on April 16 and 17 to see the animals enjoy their springtime surprises!
What is Enrichment?
Enrichment is a process that ensures the behavioral and physical needs of an animal are being met by providing opportunities for species-appropriate behaviors and choices. Enrichment is a major component of the superior care all of the animals receive at the Saint Louis Zoo. Enrichment is not any one singular thing, but rather a combination of many things that enhance the lives of all the animals you see at the Zoo. Enrichment can come in the form of activities, dynamic habitats, new experiences or even food items presented in challenging or novel ways.
Digital Scavenger Hunt for Kids
Young guests can participate in a virtual egg hunt of their own! Look for the egg-shaped signs around the Zoo and scan the QR code for fun information about animals, eggs and enrichment.
