About the book
Fancy Nancy makes a new friend and discovers the true meaning of friendship in this dazzling picture book from the New York Times bestselling duo Jane O’Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser!
For Nancy, a long weekend means fun, fun, and more fun with her best friend, Bree. But, alas! Bree will be away visiting her grandmother, leaving Nancy forlorn—that’s a fancy way of saying sad and lonely.
Then, at the park, Nancy meets Lily, who is older, fearless, and — ooh la la! — from Paris! Nancy can hardly believe such a glamorous girl wants to be friends. They spend the weekend together, and everything seems parfait (French for perfect)….at least until Bree returns. What will Nancy do?! Will she have room in her heart for two true friends?
About the author and illustrator
Jane O’Connor was born and raised in the fabulous metropolis of New York City. That’s where she still lives with her husband, Jim, although both their grown sons did something unfathomable (that means impossible to understand). They moved to the West Coast! Besides writing the Fancy Nancy series and other books for children, Jane spent her whole career as an editor at major publishing houses. Recently retired, she finds herself with something she never had before—free time to do whatever she pleases.
Robin Preiss Glasser has illustrated many acclaimed picture books, including the bestselling Fancy Nancy series, Lambslide, Escape Goat, and Grand Jeté and Me: A Christmas Holiday Book for Kids. She won the Children’s Choice Award for Best Illustrator of the Year for Fancy Nancy and the Mermaid Ballet. Robin actually wore tiaras and tutus when she danced with the Pennsylvania Ballet. Now she happily spends her days in jeans, drawing. Robin and her family live in Southern California.
