Kids Day at Cahokia Mounds

Kids Day is a family event for "Kids of All Ages, " with lots of hands-on crafts and activities such as face painting, making arrowheads and pinch pots, playing Indian games, throwing spears with an "atlatl," and more. Food and refreshments available. Sunday, May 19 from 11 am to 4 pm. A free event, held outside, but much can be moved inside in case of bad weather.

Kids Day will be held on Sunday, May 19, from 11 am to 4 pm at Cahokia Mounds State Historic site in Collinsville, IL. This free event features lots of hands-on activities for "Kids of all Ages." You can make your own arrowheads and clay pinch pots; play Indian games; grind corn; throw spears with an "atlatl" spear thrower; identify animal pelts and tracks; have your face painted with Indian designs; get free family photos; listen to a storyteller; decorate your own T-shirts; and more. Food and refreshments will be available. Most activities will be held outside but in case of inclement weather, many will be moved inside. This is a free family-oriented event, sponsored by the Cahokia Mounds Museum Society and the Cahokia Mounds Volunteers.
