Manchester Memorial Day Service - City of Manchester
Commander Michael Beasley from American Legion Post 208 Manchester,MO will deliver the Memorial Day address. The event will include the presentation of memorial wreaths. Local veterans will present the City’s wreath. Any group or family that would like to present wreaths of remembrance, please bring small wreaths and add your wreath after the large, city wreath is placed.
Manchester and surrounding communities are home to many veterans from most recent wars and conflicts. There are few World War II veterans remaining. If you know of any, please invite or bring them, so we can say “Thank you” to them.
Please attend this ceremony, where through words of reflection, music and colors of patriotism, we will express gratitude for the high price that is always paid in national conflict. We will say “Thank you” to those veterans who are gone and those who are living.
A special visitor will be present for the morning. A beautiful bald eagle from the World Bird Sanctuary will be a silent participant during the ceremony. At the event’s conclusion, this handsome bird and handler will be available for questions, answers and awe!
