SPECIAL SESSION SATURDAY: GROW WITH US: GARDENING IN THE 19TH CENTURY

In the early 19th century, nearly every home had its own garden. Although gardening today is often considered a fun hobby or pastime, for St. Charles’ early settlers, growing a garden was a matter of survival. Join us to discover what gardening was like in the 19th century. After learning about some of the tools and methods used, visitors will put their knowledge to the test in the site’s heritage garden.
