Storytelling in the Museum: Inexhaustible Explanations | 10:30–11:15am | MacDermott Grand Hall (Friday ONLY)
Meet puppet Penelope Wiseacre, the host of St. Louis Library’s Inexhaustible Explanations: An Educational Puppet Show, as she leads audience members through the murky waters of the Mississippi River! American Sign Language interpretation will be provided by DEAF Inc.
Workshop: Engineering a Fair | 10:30–11:15am, 11:30am–12:15pm | Karen Goering Classroom (Friday ONLY)
What did it take to turn the muddy wilderness of Forest Park into the beautiful grandeur of the 1904 World’s Fair? Through historic photos, primary sources, and hands-on experiments, students will explore the technological and artistic challenges of making the Fair. Space is limited to 36 students in each session.

Trilingual storytelling with spoken Spanish and English, accompanied with ASL interpretation

Este programa especial será trilingüe: los cuentos se leeràn en español y en inglés, y un intérprete de lenguaje de señas americano interpretarà las palabras habladas en inglés. ¡Amimamos a todo el mundo a participar en este programa, independientemente de la lengua o lenguas que utilicen! La interpretación al lenguaje de señas americano correrà a cargo de DEAF Inc.
How are buildings made? Let’s find out together! This special program will be trilingual—stories will be read in Spanish and English, and an American Sign Language interpreter will interpret the spoken English words. We encourage anyone and everyone to come to this program, no matter the language(s) they use! American Sign Language interpretation will be provided by DEAF Inc.

Making History: Crafts | 10am–1pm | AT&T Room (Friday); Loggia (Saturday)
Create a watercolor painting inspired by the work of George Washington Carver, use Model Magic to carve architectural ornamentation, or craft a crown inspired by the Eads Bridge.
Scavenger Hunt: Design in the City | 10am–1pm | All galleries
Explore the galleries and discover some key moments when engineering and art have come together to shape St. Louis in this fun-filled scavenger hunt.
Touch Table + Inquiry Station: Architecture and Design | 10am–1pm | MacDermott Grand Hall
Explore famous St. Louis buildings with architectural models from our Teaching Collection and think like a designer by creating a pattern using details from buildings all around us.
Open Play: Construct-A-City | 10am–1pm | Schnucks Classroom
Let your imagination run wild and build the city of your dreams! Using recycled materials, create buildings and houses for an imaginary city, design a bridge to cross a river and test its strength, and learn about the architects and engineers who made our city beautiful.
