Autumn Impressionism

In this class, students will create impressionistic paintings! Over the four weeks, students will create autumn landscapes, inspired by the nature of St. Louis, and autumn still lives with found objects like leaves, pinecones etc.

The purpose of this class is to learn the basics of landscape and still life in the style of impressionism. Students will start by learning a little bit about composition. They will study the style of impressionism through the examples of other artists and will learn how to use it in their paintings. Students will create paintings based on their impression, not focusing on every detail.
