From sea creatures of the deep to phoenixes in the sky, every society has its legends and lore. We’ll tell their stories through paintings, sculptures and other works of art. These legends may inspire awe, curiosity or surprise, but they all inspire our imaginations!

Clay Guardians & Cave Crawlers: Learn about the Golem — a legendary, man-made, mythical creature. Use sculpting techniques to create your own clay Golem sculptures. Be inspired by the Grootslang: part elephant & part snake. Mold, shape, & sculpt Model Magic to create your own.

Mysterous Waters & Creatures of the Deep: Let’s dive into the legends of the Great Lakes region like the meteor dragon, children paint their own lake serpents against a vibrant, watercolor background. Release the Kraken! Kids create a mixed media sculpture to bring this many-armed legend to life.

Sea to Sky & Fantastic Tales: The Kun-Peng is a magical bird-fish that can change forms. Bring this creature to life using drawing & crayon-resist watercolor techniques. Ready to create your own legend? Using a variety of art materials & your knowledge to create your own creature.

Wings Ablaze & Wide-Eyed Giants: Explore painting on a canvas board and be inspired by the ancient myth of the Phoenix, a magical bird reborn from its ashes! Use pop-ups to bring the legendary Cyclops to life! Have a blast cutting, folding & coloring paper to create your own Cyclops!

Wooly Wonders & Prowling Tricksters: Explore the world of the mysterious Yeti, Sasquatch & Bigfoot! Use your imagination to sculpt them in forests or mountaintops. Discover the mysteries of ancient Persian mythical Manticore. Use Model Magic to create a relief sculpture of this creature.
