June 7 – 11 / Plants + People

Take an enchanted walk down the Katy trail to discover all of nature’s wonders! Gather driftwood, leaves, and natural materials to incorporate into printmaking, seed bombs, and eco-dying. Use flowers, berries, and plants to enhance the fabric and create wind chimes. Hand build clay pots, terrariums, and hanging planters for your new plants as you take your imagination to a whole new level through eco-art!

June 14 – 18 / Monet’s Magical Monarchs

It’s a bird, it’s a plane! It’s a butterfly! Learn about monarch butterflies and plant a butterfly garden in the Foundry Garden. Camper’s will plant milkweed for monarchs and embellish garden stones to commemorate their special project. They’ll gather inspiration from the garden and watch butterflies transform from chrysalis to full flight in the classroom! Combine science, ecology, and art this week when painting, drawing, and sculpting!

June 21 – 25 / Wonders of Waters

Let the inspiration flow as you create watercolor paintings, ink resist drawings, and jewelry! See how far your imagination can travel as you learn to be stewards of the Missouri River. Explore teamwork and create a giant fish sculpture made out of plastic bottles and wow your parents with the fabulous fish installation! Sign up for this week to learn the unique ways water activates artistry.

June 28 – July 2 / Painting in the Park

Learn about landscapes and portraits by painting in Frontier Park! Have a blast exploring a variety of techniques from abstract to impressionism. Decorate leaf pendants, moss balls, and hand color photos. Build your own 3-D spaceship out of old electronics as you mix colors like a pro and learn to build texture. Sign up for this week to take your painting skills to a whole new level.

July 19 – 23 / Purposeful Plastic

Help us save the most endangered orangutan on the planet by creating a giant mural of the Sumatran orangutan! This larger than life mosaic made out of plastic bottle caps will surely stop you in your tracks as you learn about conservation. Enjoy bookmaking and the other ways artists make positive impacts.
