St. John’s UCC at Hwy. 94 and Wolfrum Rd. in Weldon Spring invites you to experience a new type of worship with Messy Church, held the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Messy Church launched on January 9 – it takes the main elements of worship out of the traditional setting to appeal to those who perhaps can’t make it on the weekend or are looking for a different type of worship experience for their families.
The events use hands-on activities to explore Bible stories and reflect a God of love, grace and hope – and give people of all ages a chance to play, learn and dine together! Each night includes a meal, activities, a message, singing and celebration.
“We’re excited about this opportunity to further connect with the St. Charles County community and to present a new opportunity for engagement and fellowship with neighbors and with God,” said St. John’s UCC-Weldon Spring Pastor Todd Bean. “The idea behind the creation of Messy Church and why we’re having it here at St. John’s goes perfectly with what we say in the UCC: ‘No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.’”
Though there are Messy Churches in operation all around the globe, St. John’s will have one of the first in the state of Missouri.
If Wednesdays don’t work for you or you’re looking for a more traditional church experience, St. John’s welcomes all to attend its worship service each Sunday at 10 a.m. The service is preceded by adult and children’s Sunday Schools at 9 a.m. Children are welcomed and encouraged to stay in church throughout the service, but there is also a supervised nursery available.
