Students entering grades 3-6

If you love science, experiments, and making discoveries about the world around you, or simply want to know more about how the world works, then our science camp is for you!  This summer we will be exploring five areas of science using hands-on STEAM techniques along with the scientific method.  You will work in groups to perform experiments, analyze data, and invent ways to improve your results.

Lab Safety and the Scientific Method – Students will learn lab safety techniques and their importance.  They will explore the scientific method, gather data, and have fun with bubble gum.

Sound Waves – Students will see, feel, and become waves of sound. They will create beautiful looking music for you to see and hear, and come home with their own dancing ooblec!

Rainbows and Light - Students will discover how God uses the sun to create various colors in our world and how colors blend and separate.  They will also learn about coding for color on computers, and how light is used to project images.

Water and Weather – Students will say, “WOW!” when they experience the wonderful world of water and discover how important it is to our living world.  God truly had an amazing plan for us during creation!

Energy – Students will construct solar powered windmills, create and bake in a solar oven, and create toys of their own using various sources of energy.

Science Camp will be hosted by Mrs. Jennifer Doyle.  Mrs. Doyle has a degree in biology from McKendree University and is a certified science teacher.  She has six years of teaching experience in subjects ranging from Conceptual Chemistry to PreAP Biology.

This camp is open to anyone entering 3rd-6th grade.  Invite your friends and family!
