On-Stage Performance Series

From dance to drama to musical performances, experience the magic of theater with our new On-Stage Performance Series. Designed to inspire a love of the arts and dramatic play, monthly performances will take place in Story Time Theater or Whitaker Theater. On-Stage Performance Series events are free with Museum admission.

School of Rock: Superhero Mashup

School of Rock Kirkwood rocks out in an acoustic mashup of electrifying superhero songs straight out of the movies! This On-Stage Performance encourages young audiences to feel like heroes themselves, with action-packed anthems and interactive moments that spark creativity.

School of Rock is a music school for all skill levels, ages, and musical aspirations. With students ranging from toddlers to adults, School of Rock is where music students grow into real musicians.


Metro Theater Company: But What Can You Do?

Metro Theater Company presents But What Can You Do? by Myah Gary. In this performance, all of Ava’s classmates seem to excel at many things, especially cartwheels! Ava is not so good at cartwheels, and after many attempts, and just as many tumbles, she feels sad. But with a little encouragement from her mom, Ava makes an exciting discovery. Though she may not be able to do some things, she has countless other talents. And they should all be celebrated!

This performance captures the magic of A.A. Milne’s classic stories and is perfect for families and fans of all ages.
