From dance to drama to musical performances, experience the magic of theater with our new On-Stage Performance Series. Designed to inspire a love of the arts and dramatic play, monthly performances will take place in Story Time Theater or Whitaker Theater. On-Stage Performance Series events are free with Museum admission. This program was made possible by a generous donation from the Hunter Family Foundation.

Laren Loveless Music

Join Laren and Aimee Loveless for a joyful, interactive music experience designed for young children and their grown-ups. Blending original songs, movement, storytelling, and playful audience participation, this performance feels less like a concert and more like stepping into a living story—where everyone belongs, big feelings are welcome, and curiosity leads the way.

Laren Loveless is a musician and educator who, alongside his wife and creative partner Aimee Loveless, creates playful, interactive music experiences for families. Together, they co-create Laren Loveless Music and the Music & Me program, an inclusive, play-based early childhood music program offering classes and live performances rooted in connection, imagination, and shared joy.


Metro Theater Company: Life Doesn’t Frighten Me

Inspired by Dr. Maya Angelou’s powerful poem Life Doesn’t Frighten Me, this original play by multi-disciplinary hip-hop artist Paige Hernandez brings to life the everyday fears we all face—and the courage within us to rise above them. Told through spoken word, hip-hop, and dance, the story celebrates every child’s unique strength and reminds us all that we are indeed fearless royalty!
 

Inspired by the intelligence and emotional wisdom of young people, Metro Theater Company creates professional theater, fosters inclusive community, and nurtures meaningful learning through the arts.


St. Louis Rep’s Imaginary Theatre Company: The Ugly Duckling

The Ugly Duckling soars to life in this heartwarming musical adventure. Perfect for children of all ages and the young at heart, this joyful tale follows one little duckling’s journey of self-discovery through a world that often misunderstands what is unfamiliar and new. Full of music, humor, and transformation, The Ugly Duckling is a celebration of curiosity, courage, and the idea that being different might just be your superpower.

The Imaginary Theatre Company (ITC) focuses on theatre for young people and their families. Through the use of literature, folk tales, fairy tales and new adaptations of classic works– ITC is committed to bringing the very finest in theatre to youth where they live and learn.
