What our organization offers:

Founded in 1922, the APA is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing people and pets together, advancing humane education and creating programs beneficial to the human/animal bond. We take in approx 5,000 stray and surrendered pets annually.
At the APA, we bring and keep pets and people together - building connections that strengthen families and communities. Our vision is a compassionate community where pets and people thrive together.
Through pet adoption, wellness, and education programs, we strive to deepen the bonds between humans and their pets. It’s an ongoing commitment that mirrors the commitment of our donors, volunteers, staff, and adoptive families.
A strong bond between a child and an animal can encourage growth and learning for both in a number of ways. Each of our youth-centered education programs connect young people with animals through fun, innovative methods.
